BIO:
Connor Leimer is a New York-based musician, songwriter and record-maker. Born in Kansas City and raised on the DIY music scene, Connorâs love for music began at age 7 in his weekly drum lessons with his Brazilian drum instructor Luiz Orsano. It was there that Connor discovered his natural sense of rhythm that uniquely informed his songwriting and by 13 he was penning a new song each week on his dadâs 70âs Guild acoustic guitar. Connorâs talents quickly grabbed the attention of the music industry in Nashville and Los Angeles as well as the fashion industry in New York City. By 19, Connor graced the cover of Visual Tales Magazine shot by legendary Vogue photographer Arthur Elgort, performed at The Recording Academyâs Grammy Museum at L.A. Live and cut his teeth in the studio with Nashvilleâs top session players. By 21, Connor independently released his celebrated single âBrooklynâ produced by Grammy-Award winning producer Matt Rollings, mixed by Michael Brauer at Electric Lady Studios and premiered with a music video directed by auteur Warren Elgort, starring Victoria Lee. At 22, after a chance meeting with Josh Rouse, the two collaborated on 2019âs EP âMouth Wordsâ produced and cowritten by Rouse, one of Connorâs major influences. Later this year, Connor is set to release his highly anticipated full length record âWriting Copiesâ. The 10-song album showcases experiences from the now 25 year oldâs life while exploring the most in-depth songwriting of his career. Produced by East Nashvilleâs Kyle Dreaden and recorded with a local band of mates, the tightknit group adds sparse but powerful backing to songs that paint lyrical pictures in the minds of listeners. Connor writes from a personal place, often hidden away in the small corners of his Manhattan apartment; In this way the American songwriter makes a hobby of capturing the zeitgeist of New York City while channeling the solace of cities like Nashville where the artist came to be.
